Now that I have your attention ... today is the big day! Riding the train from Redmond to Prineville. It's an old Shay steam engine that runs on special occasions (so nice of Lou to arrange it for my birthday!).
The map shows where we are - in Bend, Oregon. We took a bus to just north of Bend, where we boarded the train for a 2 1/2 hour ride to Prineville. This took us across the central part of Oregon, through lots of ranches and more beautiful scenery.
